Circa 2004, changes to the rules and regulations of the Ministry of Natural Resources made it impossible for
Second Chance to operate as both a wildlife rehabilitation center
and shelter for domestic animals. Thereafter, Second Chance’s activities were confined to domestic animals and,
presently, principally cats.

visiting at Second Chance Wildlife Sanctuary is suspended until
further notice.

Currently,
SCWS is home to some 180 cats. HOURS: The sanctuary is open to the public every day,
Monday to Friday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
